What a fantastic idea having Grisha read her own book, it was so lovely to listen to. With the added bonus of Grisha adding little bits to things she might now change a little or change in certain situations. This was a delight to watch, thank you.

Thank you so much for providing an audio/video version of this book for those of us who learn more easily by listening! I really appreciated being able to listen to some chapters multiple times when needed too. The speed was perfect for me but the feature that allows you to change the playback speed is awesome. I could see myself using it in the future.

I already love this series SO much. Too many dog books are not on audible, and as a neurodivergent person who has a reeeeally tough time with long-form reading, but who easily absorbs info through audio format, I appreciate this series so much. When I really need to, I can dig deep and read a book (and I have read - well, most of - BAT 2.0!), but it’s really really hard to make myself do it. It even borders on aversive at times. I’m not alone in this, including among pro dog trainers, so I predict this series will make reading all the greats much more accessible to a lot of people. I greatly appreciate the lengths Grisha goes to to be accessible to people, financially, from a learning standpoint, and otherwise! Thanks a bunch!

Like an Audio Book, but better!

I know I’m not the only one with a stack of unread books. There’s even a Japanese word for it: “Tsundoku” is the shelved (or piled) books that are patiently waiting to be read.

That’s why I created this brand new series, where authors read their own books on video and answer your questions by live Q&A. The coolest part of this is that books are often out of date by the moment they’re printed, so this is a way for authors to make some comments with updated information as they read.

My BAT 2.0 book on dog reactivity is the first of many such book readings in the Author’s Book Club (also available in paperback and ebook). Feel free to email me with requests for other dog authors that you want to hear (and see) reading. Kathy Sdao will be going next! You can sign up for these individually or get them all with a Diamond membership (and any of our other classes, too).

I’ll be issuing the recordings weekly and then you can ask me any questions you want. They are in video format as well as audio-only, like a podcast, so you can listen to them on your walks or as you drive.

There are some visuals in the book that you’ll be able to see best if you have the eBook (or a paper copy) so I recommend getting the bundle that includes the eBook (this is also included with the Diamond membership). Options are below.

We meet on 3 Thursdays at 10 am Pacific, July 22, August 19, and September 30 (those are optional, don’t worry if you missed out, they’re recorded). I started out live on July 22 in which I read the first 10 pages and answered questions. The Las session is a Q&A. I’m releasing video/audio recordings of each chapter as I finish them. It’s not too late to sign up!

About the Book

"Behavior Adjustment Training 2.0: New Practical Techniques for Fear, Frustration, and Aggression in Dogs"

With BAT 2.0, I have completely overhauled Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT) to create a new efficient and practical tool for dog reactivity.

Ideal for dog guardians and trainers, BAT 2.0 builds resilience and self-reliance by giving dogs safe opportunities to learn about people, dogs, or other triggers.

Written for all readers to follow, this book also includes technical tips and bonus chapters just for dog behavior professionals.

Learn how to rehabilitate aggression, frustration, and fear. Discover survival skills to prevent reactivity on walks and at home. Plus top tips on how to use a long line to safely maximize your dog's freedom of movement.

Empower your dog to gain confidence and social skills!

"BAT 2.0 is a must-read for anyone who has or works with reactive dogs. For years, dogs all over the world have benefited from the successful philosophies and empowering techniques in BAT, but Grisha Stewart has taken it to the next level." - Victoria Stilwell, star of the television show, "It's Me Or the Dog" and author of "It's Me or the Dog: How to Have the Perfect Pet," "Train Your Dog Positively," and "Fat Dog Slim" (UK/USA)

About the Instructor

Dog Trainer, Author, Singer-Songwriter

Grisha Stewart MA, CPDT-KA, KPACTP

I'm a collaborative dog trainer, author, international presenter, singer-songwriter, and keynote speaker of European ancestry (best guess based on DNA and some genealogy is Scotland, "England & Northwestern Europe," Wales, "Germanic Europe," Ireland, and Norway). I've been helping people and dogs professionally since 2003. My passion projects are grief tending, community singing, and woodturning.

I'm fascinated by animal behavior (including humans), somatic awareness, spirituality, psychology. My work is directed at wholehearted living for all beings, including dogs with a history of aggression, frustration, or fear as well as puppies and my other favorite species: humans.

My Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT 2.0 book and BAT 3.0) is used worldwide to help dogs gain confidence and social skills. Well over 200,000 people have learned about BAT so far.

Diane Redding and I co-host a podcast called The Lesson is Love.

As an outgoing introvert, I refresh my batteries by singing, expressing grief in community, and savoring life with my husband (Tom), Labrador (Joey), cat (Garbanzo aka "Adventure Kitty" and "Baby Panther"), and Little Brown Dog (Zuki). I identify as a queer (pansexual), neurodiverse, middle age, white, raised in poverty and now of middle class, and US citizen, spiritual non-Christian leaning toward neo-Druid (but raised in Christian culture). My pronouns are she/her. I am still wrestling with living on the stolen river watershed of the Siuslaw people, who are part of the CTCLUSI.
