Help Your Dog Live Their Best Life!

When she found out that her dog, Poppy, had lost her sight, dog trainer Eve Welton was heartbroken. She discovered that there was very little support for her human experience or professional help for her dogs.

But she busted through the myths, found her way, and discovered that she loves working with blind dogs! In 2021, she adopted a border collie named Jacob from Bosnia through the Blind Dog Rescue UK charity. In the space of just a few months working with Jacob, she saw huge improvements in his behavior, and she's happy to report that she now has two happy blind dogs.

Dogs can be born blind, but they can also lose vision due to diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, progressive retinal atrophy, macular degeneration, and Suddenly Acquired Retinal Degeneration (also known as SARDS). If you have a dog who has lost their sight or is already visually impaired, you don't have to go it alone.

In this webinar, you'll learn how to make your dog's life easier, navigate equipment that can help (and learn what to avoid), re-train what your dog already knows if your dog has lost their sight, as well as learn enrichment that's helpful for blind dogs, basic training tips, and how to navigate the scary outdoors. This is a specialized area, so even though the webinar is aimed at pet dog families, it's useful for any professional dog trainer, too!

Recorded May 2023.

It's true, there is very little help and support out there for blind down owners and trainers. This webinar hosted by Grisha and led by Eve was invaluable to us as our dog went fully blind 2 days beforehand. Eve is able to connect with the emotions and stresses one feels when wanting to give one's dog the best blind life ever - we felt reassured and hopeful that we CAN actually give our beloved young dog a long and happy blind life. Thank you, Eve!

Phenomenal! Eve gives so much information, I will have to watch this repeatedly. (Sorry, Chirag, I'm with Eve today). The enrichment ideas apply to all of our canine companions. This discussion is a wonderful reminder to be patient, be in the moment, and to remember that our dogs are emotional living beings. Eve offers invaluable advice and solutions that despite our human limitations, we can all employ.
