"The witnessing of the community has the capacity to act like scissors that cut us away from unhealthy ties, so we can rewire ourselves in the way we should be wired, to say ‘yes, I’m alive, finally, again!’"

Prioritizing Your Well-being: Trauma and Grief

While grief rituals are powerful and can help you integrate long-held grief or harm, sometimes trauma needs to be addressed first. Or sometimes something comes up that needs follow-up with your support system. This is especially important for anyone experiencing PTSD, CPTSD, or recent/active trauma.

What to Consider:

The Impact of the Retreat: It's important to be aware of how confronting grief during the retreat might affect your existing trauma.

Support System: We highly recommend having a solid support system in place before attending a grief retreat.

This could include individual or group therapy, community groups, family, friends, elders, a solid mindfulness practice, etc.

We encourage you to prioritize your well-being by having a support system in place before this session to help process anything that may come up during the community grief ritual.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

Please only register when you are sure you can commit to this event. We understand that life happens sometimes, and unforeseen circumstances may prevent you from attending the retreat after registering. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds for cancellations.

This policy ensures accountability for all participants and allows us, the facilitators and organizers, to focus fully on preparing for the retreat experience.

However, you can find someone else to take your spot! If you find someone who wishes to attend in your place, they must complete the registration process and connect with us at least 7 days before the retreat

This allows us to finalize logistics and ensure a smooth experience for all participants. As the retreat nears, our focus shifts away from administrative tasks and towards creating the best possible in-person experience.

Special note to those who sign up with the free option

Cancellation Policy

We are happy to have you!

We need to be able to count on your attendance, since a spot is saved for you. We keep these rituals deliberately small, around 30 people, and they fill up quickly.

If you signed up for free or $1 and are unable to attend, we require 7 full days' notice, so we can coordinate with someone on the waitlist.

For folks who are paying, there is a cost to not showing up. We want to make sure people who are signing up for free/$1 don't take this lightly, either.

So if you have signed up for free/$1, and you give less than one week's notice to cancel, then for the next ritual after this one, you'll need to be on the space-available list. If you indicate that you want to attend the next ritual, we will let you know the day before that ritual if space is available.

Exception: if you have someone go in your place, this won't apply. So if you do need to cancel in the 7-day window, invite a friend to attend, instead and let us know.
