I love that Sue invites the Guardian to stay for the grooming session. What a great opportunity for the Guardian to watch and learn consent based techniques for handling, and proper techniques for brushing, etc. T-Touch! Yes! Canine body language should absolutely be included in grooming training. This was wonderfully informative. I now understand which types of equipment are best to try for each type of coat. I've printed the downloadable pages and they're in my binder. I'm truly inspired to learn more. Becoming a professional groomer may be the perfect next step for me. How fortunate are Sue's canine clients?

I got a few useful tips but overall I was very disappointed that the agenda was changed to remove the co-operative care content from the session - I had purchased the session especially to see CC used in the context of grooming and to also learn more about Sue's techniques. I didn't need to learn about line brushing or which brush to use on which coat. It sounds like the agenda changed at the last minute because "there are other experts that cover this elsewhere in the Academy".

I was honestly surprised from this course, as I worked as a groomer and a trainer for many years, I thought what should be new in addition to all the animal husbandry courses here in the academy. I love how Sue gives insights in the process of the salons so thar dog owners can understand what are the stressing factors and how they can help their dog with all kinds of preperation apart from the training itself. It's a pity that these things aren't taught in groomer schools so that more groomers would focus more on happy than on pretty dogs, thanks for raising that awareness

Get to Grips With The Human End of the Brush!

Grooming plays a crucial role in maintaining the health and well-being of our beloved dogs. However, it can often be a source of anxiety and discomfort for both pets and their owners. That's why it's essential to learn consent-based grooming techniques that prioritize your dog's comfort and emotional well-being.

In this webinar, Grooming Expert and Dog Behaviorst Sue Williamson will help you discover how to desensitize "hot" areas such as legs and feet, and share her top tips on finding a fear-free groomer who understands the importance of consent and employs positive reinforcement techniques.

You'll learn what a successful grooming experience should look like, and gain valuable insights on how to transition the cooperative care work you do at home into the grooming environment. With Sue's proven methods and strategies, you can transform grooming sessions into a positive and enjoyable experience for your furry friend.
