Read MoreI really loved the Bat 101 Mentoring sessions and have learned so much from each session. The spacing between each session means I have time to absorb what I have read in the course materials and am really loving the discussions that come out of each mentoring session with Joey. Having the opportunity to share and observe videos in a supportive environment gave me a more nuanced understanding of the BAT methodology and have already starting putting it into practice in my day to day life with my dog. Thank you to Joey Iverson and the Grisha Stewart Academy for another great addition to the school!

Read MoreI personally find the analysis of videos people sent in most educational and helpful for developing my skills and helping me to read my own dog. It would be fantastic -if possible- to have videos of dogs that are far more reactive (i.e.need huge distances to remain 'on the beach') in more challenging environments. I find that on each occasion the answer to problems/lack of progress is 'increase distance' but if that is something that is truly impossible to achieve (for example for those who do not have a car/drive) then that's heart breaking advice as it simply is impossible to achieve. It would be incredibly helpful to see people navigate situations that are less than ideal. I saw the videos in the stealth BAT seminar for urban environments. But, I think rural environments with narrow paths literally from the front door probably are the most difficult to navigate as there is either no trigger for miles or the sudden unexpected appearance of one. Thank you for all your hard work and this great resource!

If you're looking for a way to really understand BAT through hands-on practice, but don't have a CBATI in your area to mentor you, this is your chance to get the support you need to take your BAT practice to the next level. In this add-on course, CBATI Joey Iversen will be mentoring students who are taking BAT 101 to help them fully understand my BAT technique from the ground up. This is an opportunity for you to go through BAT 101 in community, at the same time as others, with the ability to get feedback, ask questions, and share videos. Joey is amazing; you'll grow as a trainer with her insights!
If you're a professional trainer, BAT 101 is a required course to complete the BAT-KA (knowledge-assessed certification, which is a stepping stone to being a full Certified BAT Instructor or CBATI).
Joey will meet for six group mentoring sessions in Zoom webinars at 10am PDT. Dates: July 5, July 19, August 2, August 23, September 6, September 20.
Note: This mentoring course is a companion to BAT 101; it's not meant to stand alone. You are welcome to do BAT 101 by itself or with this mentoring. Joey has decades of experience and is one of my favorite trainers in the world, because of her careful attention to detail and her solid organizational skills. You'll be in great hands with her.
Be sure to enroll in both BAT 101 AND the mentoring course. The bundle is $160 for both through July 4 and $200 after that. We'll be closing registration for Joey's mentoring course after the first week of class, on July 12. Already signed up for BAT 101 before? See the purchase options at the bottom of this page.
(Diamond members are automatically registered for both, there’s nothing to do but save the dates on your own calendar).
BAT 101 is a separate course, which you can purchase as part of a bundle with Joey's Mentoring (see below). BAT 101 is available to start now, so you can begin learning at anytime and be thoroughly prepared for the sessions.
Suitable for anyone wanting to learn to do BAT for fear, frustration, or aggression, but especially targeted for professional dog trainers and behaviorists. If you're worried that your dog may bite, please hire a private trainer to get eyes on your situation. Consider going through this bundle together with your trainer if they're not already experienced with BAT.
Structure: Sessions are live on Zoom in webinar format and will be recorded for enrolled students only. Questions will be asked via text box and Joey will respond on camera. If you have a question that you need to ask by voice, Joey will be able to turn your microphone or camera on.
You can purchase this course directly or get it with a Diamond Membership All Access Pass. For one low price per month, you get access to ALL of our emotionally enriching courses. See if Diamond is right for you.

Weekly classes can be too intense, so the schedule is spaced out to give you more chance to practice in between.
Joey will meet with students 6 times in Zoom. Try to attend live, but if you can't or if you want to review the session again later, they'll be recorded for registered attendees to watch.
This course is open to anyone who wants to learn how to do BAT well, but it's especially aimed at professional dog trainers and behaviorists.
BAT 101 is a required course to complete the BAT-KA certification which is a pre requisite to becoming a CBATI. If you are thinking of becoming either, then you won't want to miss out on this live mentoring opportunity!
Registration closes July 12 and after that, no one else will be able to get in.
Pro Trainers can get CEUs from the IAABC (6) and CCPDT (6).
Attendees are also eligible to continue the conversation in the Grisha Stewart Learner Support Facebook Group.
Diamond members can also post in the special group for Diamonds.
