BAT Questions, Answered!

BAT Chats are a series of recorded Q&A sessions in which participants shared video of training set-ups and real life. I went over each video with a fine-tooth comb, pointing out what's done well and what can be improved to set the dog up for success.

14 recorded sessions, about 30 minutes each.

  • Questions were mostly from professional trainers, some from family dog caregivers.

  • Detailed help, from "Slow Stops" to setting up the environment.

  • These were live video sessions, available now as recordings.

  • 7.5 CCPDT CEUs, 7.5 IAABC CEUs. We are an approved education provider for the CCPDT.

  • Get this course and a whole lot more for FREE when you become a Diamond Member! Learn more about Diamond Membership.

  • We also have a Library Pass which lets you stream pre recorded content. Find out more on the Library Pass Page.

What's Included in the BAT Chats?

In the first 6, questions were submitted by text with videos. After that we did them in live video calls.

About the Instructor

Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Author

Grisha Stewart MA, CPDT-KA, KPACTP

I'm a collaborative dog trainer, author, podcaster, international presenter, and keynote speaker based in Oregon, USA. My passion projects are grief tending, community singing, and woodturning. I enjoy developing empowering approaches to help dogs and people live in harmony.

I'm fascinated by animal behavior, somatic awareness, and psychology. I'm passionate about wholehearted living for all beings, including dogs with a history of aggression, frustration, or fear as well as puppies and my other favorite species: humans.

My Behavior Adjustment Training technique (BAT 2.0 book and the new BAT 3.0) is used worldwide to help dogs gain confidence and social skills. A conservative calculation is that well over 200,000 people have learned about BAT so far.

I have always loved teaching. I earned a Master's in mathematics and taught college courses, but I found my true calling in dog training. I have been teaching dog training and behavior since 2003. In 2010, I started traveling worldwide to teach dog trainers about BAT. In 2014 I developed BAT 2.0 and also started this online dog training and behavior school, the Grisha Stewart Academy which now has over 140 classes from my favorite emotionally intelligent dog and human behavior experts. I also co-host a podcast at The Lesson is Love.

As an outgoing introvert, I enjoy teaching at cooperative conferences and am so grateful to be able to offer classes about dogs online. I refresh my batteries by singing, expressing grief in community, and savoring life in the woods with my husband (Tom), Labrador (Joey), cat (Garbanzo aka "Adventure Kitty" and "Baby Panther"), and Little Brown Dog (Zuki).
