Can you do me a favor?

Did you just groan, reading that, afraid you won't be able to say no? I don't actually have a favor, beyond considering that this webinar might be useful for you.

Do you have a hard time asking other's for help? Do you ever say "yes" to something and end up regretting it, cutting out important self-care to make things work out? We all want to belong and feel helpful in some way. However, if we try to make sure no one is ever upset with us, we may say yes when we really mean no, which sacrifices our own happiness as well as making it hard to care for our own dogs and/or human families.

For this important webinar, I've brought in psychologist Lori Kogan, chair of the Human-Animal Interaction section of the American Psychological Society. Her 30-minute webinar guides us through the ways we can actually turn the (sometimes) uncomfortable process of setting boundaries into a gift to ourselves and others. The Q&A with Lori is your chance to get your own questions answered, and it should be a fun one, as the fantastic and insightful Andrew Hale will be hosting.

Webinar available on demand with Live Q&A Session. Wednesday July 20, 10am Pacific Time.

Q&A will also be recorded for registered attendees to watch at a later time.

  • Suitable for pet owners, trainers, behaviorists, shelter workers and anyone looking to expand your knowledge and skills to support dogs..

  • Learn why Boundary Setting is so important to maintaining a happy, healthy life.

  • Discover ways to establish Healthy Boundaries and how to introduce them into your social network.

  • Useful even if you have already created Boundaries as Lori will provide maintenance tools to help ensure that they continue to work for you.

  • Webinar will be recorded and available to watch 24 hours after the broadcast.

  • Get this and whole lot more with a Diamond Membership All Access Pass. For one low price per month, you get access to over 100 emotionally enriching courses. See if Diamond is right for you.

  • Saying "no" gracefully won't have people hating you -- self-respect will actually likely earn you more respect from others.

  • Already a Diamond? You're already enrolled in this webinar, at no extra charge. Just log in and refresh this page, and you'll see a Start Learning or Resume Learning button on the top.

With the amount of burnout I see among shelter/rescue staff & volunteers, foster families, veterinary staff of all levels, &, of course, dog trainers, it appears we are not the greatest at setting boundaries with our higher-ups, colleagues, our fellow volunteers, our clients, or our friends & family. We all have HUGE hearts & we a strong desire to help, sometimes much to our own detriment. Lorie gives some great tips on how to say, “no,” firmly & gracefully without feeling guilty that we can’t say, “yes,” to everything.
