Read MoreNobody gets a second or third dog thinking, "I would love to add uncertainty, aggression, and rude dog behavior to my life." But many multiple-dog households end up in just that situation. Presenter Debby McMullen offers a lot of tools for coming to terms with what is actually happening and figuring out what to do to improve quality of life for all members of multi-dog households. There are no magic spells (although there are lots of actions we humans can take to encourage and maintain multi-dog harmony). When things go wrong, though, it is great to have tools like these to analyze and address just what is happening and when a professional's help is needed. Webinar includes information I found helpful for my various roles: owner, trainer, and potential adopter and foster.

Read MoreNo matter if it's about dogs already living together, adopting a new dog, taking in a foster care or having just a visit of another dog, there can always occur more or less problems that require the intervention of a human. Debby has so many useful tips how to create a more harmonic surrounding to help the dogs getting along with each other and also gives a lot of management and training strategies in case the four legged family members don't like each other. I think this course can help a lot of people to prevent they have to re-home one of their dogs because they seem to not get along.
Read LessI'm going to geek out for a second here. I have a relatively small animal household, with two dogs, two people, and a cat. That's 5 beings with their own needs, and we relate differently when it's all of us, 4 of us, 3, 2, or 1. That's 31 different relationships! (To calculate it for your family, if n is the number of beings, it's 2n-1 relationships. Thanks Lisa Korf).
When combining different personalities, some friction is bound to occur. Conflicts can be minor or major, brief, or ongoing, and they can built up to create a stressful environment that upsets every member of the household. The good news is that peace can reign in your household and I've brought in just the expert to help.
Debby McMullen tends to have a lot more dogs than I do. Her specialty is behavior consultations with an emphasis on multiple dog households, as well as those cases which may turn aggressive, so she's the perfect guide for those of you looking for help living with groups of dogs. She is the author of a book I frequently share with clients: "How Many Dogs? Using Positive Reinforcement Training to Manage a Multiple Dog Household". This is your chance to get her most up-to-date ideas and tips. She lays the foundation for understanding how multiple dogs interact, and then provides the tools to help us improve those interactions.
