I have been working with a multitude of traumatized pit bulls for the last 4 years. I am excited to have the pieces of information that I have happened upon throughout this work in one webinar that I may invite others to watch. I am also happy to see some of the newer research and how the research and BAT support each other.

This was a great webinar, clearly expressed, and for those who want a more in-depth and mechanical understanding of the brain, and the processes that underlie our work with dogs, and their experiences. Definitely worth a watch if you hope to inform your practices under the most recent research, and understand more deeply how our interventions may be helping, or hurting.

Helping Dogs Who Have Experienced Trauma

This webinar provides an initial introduction into the neurobiology of trauma in dogs, both defining the meaning of psychological trauma and exploring how trauma affects learning and emotional processing.

Daniel breaks down some complex neuroscientific topics such as long term potentiation and the HPA axis and explains how understanding these brain mechanisms can inform dog professionals when working with complex trauma cases, with a specific focus on helping animals that have experienced trauma regain physiological and emotional balance.

Recorded January 2024.

  • Explore the neurobiology of trauma in mammals in general and dogs, in particular..

  • Discover cutting edge techniques of how to help your dog or client dogs.. those dogs that have experienced trauma.

  • Learn about how to recognize trauma in dogs.

  • Suitable for anyone working with a dog (or any other animal!) who wishes to add more tools to their trainer toolbox.
