A Note From Osprey: In this curated song circle, I will teach simple songs to remind us how to belong to ourselves and each other. Belonging is a birthright, and re-learning how to do it is part of everyone's journey. All songs will be taught by ear, through call and echo / "repeat after me". Lyrics may be posted in the chat. I welcome all voices - whether you have sung before or this is your first time. Due to the lag time of the virtual format, attendees will be muted and I will be off mute to teach and sing. I hope you join us!

About Stellar Village Community Song Events:
Community singing is a heartfelt way to connect together, learn, and have an amazing time doing it! Normally it's done in person, but we can also do this on Zoom, bringing song leader and songwriter Osprey to your home or community.

Here's how it works online. We will all be in our little Zoom boxes singing along with Osprey (cameras on or off). We won't hear each other, just ourselves singing and the songleader, so don't worry about how your voice sounds.

In most of our community singing sessions, the songleader will introduce each song and then teaches it at the pace we need, with us being able to repeat the song in our living rooms or wherever we are at (microphones off). Danny has the option to let folks in the Zoom session unmute for parts (one at a time), but the default is that your mic is off. We'll also have a question period at the end.

You don't have to sing alone - you're welcome to bring friends to the Zoom! You can have a group of people at your place participating, on or off camera (on is usually more fun for the songleader). The only caveat is that you don't charge others for it. If you want to do that, please contact us and we'll discuss fair reciprocity.

After the session, we'll have the option of going into breakout groups (smaller Zoom groups) to talk with each other in response to a prompt. You are at choice and don't have to participate in the breakout groups.

See you on October 9th, 2024, 10 am - 11:30 am pacific time. The live session will also be recorded for people who sign up but can't make it live, or for attendees to watch later.

I am a nonbinary singer-songwriter and song leader (using they/them pronouns) descended from Scotch-Irish and German settler colonists. I write quirky, authentic lyrics about love, healing, community, justice, and our relationship with the planet.

My songs (such as Grief and Praise) have taken flight all over the U.S. through the community singing circuit. My catchy tunes go deep and stay in your head for days, but it’s all good because they hint at answers that are relevant to now.
