I love her style of presenting the information, it is super clear for me. But Molly Sumridge, Grisha Stewart and Andrew Hale discussing BAT and Anthrozoology together! Wow. And the Q & A! I will be watching this one so many more times. This is elevating me as a trainer, and there is mention of ripple effects, Molly articulates how she is seeing it in her community, and that is inspiring. We can't change everything, but we can definitely influence so much in a relationship between a human and their dog (or horse or cat, or birds...or...) just by watching this webinar.

I really enjoyed the ideas in this seminar. While it can be used for dogs of all sizes, I think these ideas (particularly the waist belt systems) will be particularly helpful for the very strong pullers or large dogs that lunge explosively. Sometimes I see clients having a hard time handling dogs with these tendencies during BAT sessions, so I think that these leash options will make it easier on their hands and bodies. Thank you for putting together this seminar and sharing these ideas!

A Little More About Me...

Dogs and People are my passion!

My name is Grisha Stewart and my family tree has more dogs than humans!

I'm best known among dog trainers for developing Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT), a humane, trauma-informed technique for dog aggression, frustration, and fear. I also love teaching all kinds of life skills, so this online school covers a lot of different subjects.

Through my international dog seminars, DVDs, books, and my in-person and online training schools, I've helped well over 200,000 dogs and their people thrive.

Here's a little history about me. When I transitioned from college math instructor to professional dog trainer in 2003, I was excited to use positive reinforcement to communicate to dogs what I wanted. Control is a basic mammalian need and (confession time) I really liked the notion that my dog was listening to me. My dog, Peanut, was a rock star with outstanding tricks.

But as I matured as a dog trainer and a person, my focus shifted away from control to ensuring that dogs still get to be dogs, that we find ways to live together that meet their needs and ours. That's why I developed BAT, and why I use positive reinforcement mindfully today, in ways that directly benefit the animal, like teaching cooperative care and consent. [click for my bio]
